The Stubblefield Institute is part of the Shepherd Entrepreneurship and Research Corporation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation established to support the development of projects, partnerships and initiatives that will advance research and economic development initiatives for Shepherd University and the region it serves.
As part of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, donations to the Stubblefield Institute may be tax deductible. The Institute is independently funded and does not generally receive funding from Shepherd University.
Funding sources for the Stubblefield Institute have included:
- Individual donations,
- Corporate donations,
- Private foundations, and
- The U.S. Department of Education.
Funding received from the U.S. Department of Education, or any other government program, is administered by Shepherd University, a public West Virginia university.
